Companies as well as public institutions are forced by security breaches
and attacks on their IT infrastructures, to invest in the security of their
systems. The primary objectives in doing so are to protect company secrets,
to keep the whole infrastructure available, to perform secure digital
transactions and to comply with legal requirements. The total costs for
security sollutions ammount to billions of Euro each year and many of
those costly technologies finally turn out to be almost useless.
Planing and implementing effective security guidelines and security systems
appears to be an amazingly complex topic which requires methodic and
prospective actions.
During the course the process of security management within the information
technology is explained. We are going to analyse existing systems and develop
own sollutions. Several practical exercises will help to emerge an
understanding of what security is and how it works.
